Ten Things That Occurred to Me #21

1. Choosing Volodymyr Zelensky as Time’s Person of the Year was the biggest no-brainer choice in the history of no-brainer choices.

2. I find this very interesting -- a Digital Nomad Visa from Portugal. Good for them.  I love it.

3. I’ve heard about enough of this kook Sam Bankman-Fried, but sadly, things are probably just getting rolling.

4. I figured out why I find Christmas music tiresome.  I don’t mind the original songs, it’s the new takes on old hits I find tedious.  One can only tolerate a limited number of renditions of “I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas.”

5. And while I’m at it, I’ve just about had enough of Elon Musk. And Kanye, too.  Enough already.  

6. I’m learning that to be a grown-up, you have to learn to deal with discomfort.  Not just physical discomfort but uncomfortable feelings. Sometimes you just have to live with those discomforting feelings.  I usually want to “fix it” this very minute, but you can’t always do that, can you.

7. Here is something I can’t figure out: Why doesn’t the amount of ice in my Diet Coke affect my enjoyment of this delightful beverage?  Both not enough and too much ice make for a suboptimal experience.

8. If I see another article about imposter syndrome, I’m going to tug on Superman’s cape and tell him Smallville is a podunk town full of rednecks.

9. I’m glad that Britney Griner is free. I’m also hoping that she changes her position and stands and listens to the National Anthem going forward. I also think any US player would be utterly insane to go back to Russia to play. 

10. I’ve said this before, but nothing says, “Why, yes, I am an update asshole!” quite like a $1000 personal air purifier.
