I am not so sure. Something magical happens to the meat and cheese inside a double quarter pounder that don’t quite happen on a cheeseburger. Not that there is anything particularly wrong with the cheeseburger either.
Possibly -- might also be something to do with the ratio of onions and ketchup to cheese and burger. And yes, McDonalds has upped their game of late. Things come out better, especially in delivery.

I should add that Quarter Pounders are vastly better than they were say five years ago.
