I think today’s AI agents pass the Turing Test. The reason we aren’t sure is that we know AI exists, and can kind of recognize it. A person in, say, 1990, would 100% say they were talking to a person on the other end if they had a chat with Fable 5. The only thing that would throw them off is the speed of typing. You’d have to “dumb” the AI down so it types and responds slower.
There are two things that really bug me in movies and TV: Coffee cups that are clearly empty, and “kids” drawings that were clearly drawn by adults trying to look like they were drawn by kids.
What would happen if you were locked in a completely light-tight domed football stadium, were standing in the last row of the upper deck, and someone in the middle of the field lit a match? How much could you see?
I can’t even remember the last time I used a ‘D’ battery. Let’s not even talk about C’s.
Data centers are a big controversy, and I think the main reason for that is that there is a lot of bad information and outright falsehoods going around. It is one of those things that I can’t quite figure out why anyone would oppose them if they actually knew the truth.
